I am a Yoga Teacher

The scope of my instruction can range from āsana, prāṇāyāma to meditation, to chanting, to energy work; I am fundamentally influenced by a biopsychosocial and emotional model. Wether it be by observing the musculoskeletal imbalances to the psychodynamics that uniquely present themselves during the practice. I also seek to educate my students on alignment (when needed), it is imperative for me for me to support your experience through self-discovery, less often—or in the midst of—guiding the practice itself.

My teaching style empowers students to cultivate proprioception while creating interoceptive awareness, whether we are practicing 1:1 or in a group setting; in either case, I am able to choose appropriate practices that meet the interests and abilities of the students. Whether my style is instructional and/or educational, I focus on teaching the various yogic methods that are applicable to the group or individual.

What to expect from a yoga class

Although yoga as a practice is therapeutic, there are significant differences between a yoga teacher and a Mindbody therapist and between a yoga class and a yoga therapy session.

I offer a variety of yoga classes, including classes for individuals 1:1 or groups of people with specific conditions and abilities. Common examples include the basics and or advanced yoga, trauma-informed yoga, yoga for cancer survivors and/or yoga in Spanish. In these classes, I apply my training and the contraindications for working with people that have unique conditions and respect those contraindications while teaching the students essentials of  yoga and mindfulness. The intention in these types of classes is to teach my students how to practice yoga while respecting their mind-body and health conditions.
