Yoga & Somatic Experiencing®

Where Traditional Wisdom Meets Contemporary Neuroscience for Self-regulation & Resilience

Santa Ynez, California
August 26, 2023

Mind Body Memory

From the outside in, our bodies hold the memories of both terror and bliss, we’ve all been there. Together, let’s move and discover how the body holds this paradox.

Welcoming you to our unique one-day workshop in Santa Ynez, California, August 26th, 2023. Join Lizbeth Vázquez Medical Yoga Therapist, ERYT500, C-IAYT,  and Elizabeth Rona LMFT, SEP®, Cross-cultural, Trauma Healing therapist as we explore the intersection between the ancient healing practice of Medical Yoga and cutting edge, neuroscience based Somatic Experiencing®, in integrating and expand the capacity to hold both contraction and release.

The Experience

Utilizing Somatic Experiencing® techniques, a cutting edge trauma release modality, in conjunction with medical yoga therapeutic tools, Lizbeth and Lisi will lead you through safe and gentle movements to identify what you are sensing in your body, feeling and thinking.

For healing to take place, we humans need a safe container where we can feel safe, accepted and where nature can hold us in her beauty.

We will explore constriction and release, learning when our neurobiology constricts or releases, flows or resists, and ultimately how we find flow in the body and freedom in the mind.

Does the body want to move? Does the body feel energized or tired? Does it feel good? Does it feel scary? Are you judging it? What is the judgment saying?

The Location

We will be meeting at Olde Oak Meadow Yoga on a private ranch and vineyard in Santa Ynez, California, a two hour drive north of Los Angeles.

We will spend each day in both, an indoor studio and an outdoor yoga studio surrounded by oak trees, the serene landscape, aromas, and birdsongs in beautiful Santa Ynez.

About Lizbeth

A sublime-woman being, studying the wisdom and science of Integrative Healing and Yoga’s therapeutic branches. My vital purpose is to be a reliable and ecological conduit for others, guiding our lives and health toward better senses of well-being. My resources identify and make key changes in physical, mental, and inter-personal health. I founded Yogic Methods (YM) in 2019, reflecting several years of training and teaching experience through intersectional disciplines, focal points, and languages (Spanish, English, French, Sanskrit). I honor and appreciate different pulses, and peoples: from community outreach programs serving at-risk groups, bilingual classes, study abroad courses in India, specialized private sessions and workshops, to studio classes, YM has many branches. My simple core is the growth of reliable and meaningful conduits for our health and ecosystem.

About Elizabeth

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, working with individuals, couples, and families I specializing in Somatic Experiencing® and other neuroscience-based modalities to treat trauma. I start as an advocate for  what is right with you. When we suffer, we narrow the totality of our experience to what is not right. Part of the healing process is to find safety in the present moment to dive into both what is and what is not working.

I am dedicated to removing the blind spots that we humans naturally put in place that prevent us from clearly seeing our vulnerabilities, resilience, internal experiences, and basic goodness. The satisfaction I get from my work is informed by my personal discovery that there is always a choice.

After four decades in private practice, I consider myself a partner in your journey to healing.
